Here I thought it was the cats that trained me to wake up at 4am but more recently I'm waking on my own at all hours of the night, in spite of melatonin and magnesium supplementation. I am so very disappointed you no longer practice here in Maine. My current gyno boasts being 1 of 2 trained doctors in menopause in the state but totally shot down bioidentical hormone replacement when I asked about it. She gave me a handout on menopause to read through and discuss options this year. I've been doing more research & now found you for better advice. Is there a doctor in Southern Maine you recommend? I really want somebody more open minded on what is a big change coming for me. I'm also hypothyroid and didn't know about bioidentical hormones for that until recently. It makes me so angry were not given options. This is not informed consent.
Love all your tips! Last night I took ashwaganda, magnesium, and melatonin as I wake up throughout the night from cortisol surges. I also use lavender oil and magnesium oil. And I have a fan on the side of my nightstand. Everything helps until I get a surge which wakes me up and then I have to use the bathroom and then I have a hard time falling back asleep :(. I’m 60 and this has been going on for years. I’m trying organic wild yam cream as I do not want to go on HRT etc. I have tried all the herbs teas and supplements to no avail. No one can address the cortisol surges that happens with my hot flashes at night. What gives?
Thank you so much for these videos. This one on sleep, especially spoke to me. I also have a question about energy. I feel so much more fatigue and tired as I’ve been going through perimenopause and trying to find what can help get through the day with more vitality. Please share your insights and wisdom on this.
The magnesium supplement that I take, which is highly recommended by Dr Northrup, is Remag by Dr Caroline Dean (the one she mentioned in her above video). It is in a liquid form to be added to a glass of water. I buy it through Amazon. (It has no bad taste or after taste). You can go to Dr Dean's website to do your research on her products. She, like Dr Northrup, is interested in helping us women thrive. 😊
