So true! And I believe, Jesus ascended, after his rising from the death, gave the directive (the Lord’s Prayer) to his new church (awakened disciple and believers), along with leaving them filled with his Holy Spirit, to facilitate the kingdom of God on earth. I believe “His return” is a metaphor and we, his chosen, are charged with the creation of “on earth as in heaven”. I think too many yearn for his physical return to rescue them from the darkness of the world and miss the truth of that directive. Through our salvation we are cleansed and returned to our state of “made in God’s image” and have all the power we need, through the Holy Spirit, to revive Eden to its pre-fall perfection. It is up to us to recreate heaven on earth.
